Flour Mill Maintenance Guide

Routine checks, clean air systems and timely spares keep a mill at rated output. Use the manufacturer’s manual for each machine as the final reference.

Daily

  • Walk the plant: listen for unusual noise and check for vibration and heat at bearings
  • Check roller mill feed and grinding, and look for flour leaks at sifters and spouts
  • Confirm filter differential pressure and fan operation
  • Keep the building clean to reduce infestation risk

Weekly

  • Inspect plansifter and purifier sieves (bolting cloth) and sieve cleaners
  • Check belts, chains and couplings on conveyors and elevators
  • Clean spouts and pipes; a mill spout cleaner helps reach inside
  • Check slide gates and level sensors

Periodic

  • Roll condition: re-fluting or grinding as needed
  • Bearing lubrication as per manual
  • Filter sleeve cleaning or replacement
  • Calibration of feeders and dosing (micro feeder)

Keep critical spares

Keep spare sieve frames and cloth, belts, bearings, filter sleeves and a set of rolls for critical passages. Downtime usually costs more than the spare.

Plan service support

Agree service visits and spare-part supply with your machine supplier. DPG provides spare parts and after-sales service for its machines.
